Here is how this works in practice. We set up music composition and scoring through a deep Mexico City composer and session-musician roster that has Carlos Velázquez, Diana Reyna, Lila Downs (singer-composer drawing on Mixteco and Zapoteco heritage), Natalia Lafourcade (UNESCO-collaborator on Son Jarocho preservation), and crossover composers via the Café Tacvba and Plastilina Mosh networks. For high-profile global scoring on Mexican-led shoots we set up with Gustavo Santaolalla — the Argentine composer whose long joint work with Iñárritu produced Brokeback Mountain (Oscar), Babel, 21 Grams, and The Last of Us HBO score — and reach into Alexandre Desplat's network (Shape of Water Oscar with del Toro 2017).
